Welcome to EMBA!
Welcome to the online home of EMBA - the Eastern Missouri Beekeepers Association!
This web site describes EMBA and its activities, and provides links and other resources for beekeepers. Most importantly, the EMBA Beekeeping Discussion Forum is an online opportunity for beekeepers to share information and discuss topics of common interest to the St. Louis beekeeping community.
EMBA is a 69 year old group of more than 200 beekeepers and honey bee enthusiasts from the St. Louis area. We meet monthly at the Missouri Department of Conservation Powder Valley Nature Center. The membership meetings feature guest presentations by leading local and national beekeepers, educators, extension specialists, and university faculty and staff. In addition, the club runs a number of annual activities including workshops for beginning and experienced beekeepers.
Members of EMBA include beginner, novice, and experienced backyard hobbyists, as well as professional beekeepers who run many hives throughout the area. All members enjoy the following benefits:
- access to the club’s library of videos and books on beekeeping
- participation in the club’s instructional programs
- the opportunity to learn from and share experiences with other beekeepers
- subscription to the club’s monthly newsletter
